How branded calling works
Branded calling builds on the STIR/SHAKEN framework to verify identity at every stage, from origination to display.
Verification
Every branded call starts with verification. Telnyx vets your business identity and approves a Display Identity Record tied to your numbers. Once approved, your outbound calls are signed under the STIR/SHAKEN framework.
Signed PASSporT
The signature travels as a SHAKEN PASSporT, a cryptographic token attached to each call. It carries your rich call data, including your business name, logo, and call reason, and proves the call originated from your verified numbers.
Carrier validation
The receiving carrier validates the PASSporT before the phone rings. When the signature checks out, your branding renders on the recipient's screen instead of an unknown number or a spam warning.
